The Statement of Purpose should express your short term goals for the MFA program, as well as your long-term career objectives. Your program representative will provide you with a fillable document to complete this essay, with guided questions included.

  • Three pieces of original music (no more than three minutes each)

Provide three pieces of original music. It is strongly suggested that at least one of the submitted works either be music written to picture (in this case, bounce your music to video) or reflect one of our three provided story briefs. Any instrumentation and any style or genre is acceptable as long as it supports the story idea.

At least one piece of music must be accompanied by a matching and properly notated score.

  • Two Letters of Recommendation

Provide two academic or professional letters of recommendation.

  • Transcript

If you are a transfer or graduate student, we will request transcripts on your behalf from the colleges and universities that you have attended. You may provide an unofficial transcript, pending the completion of your undergraduate degree.
